Hanover Shopper | January 2021

Hanover restaurants are working harder than ever to ensure the cleanliness of their dining rooms while still providing their signature dishes and service with limited capacity.

The Patron Mexican Restaurant (7610 Left Flank Road, Mechanicsville), which is known for its delicious Tierra y Mar (steak and seafood) – and, of course, their margaritas - is currently offering full service and outdoor dining, takeout, and delivery of their mouth-watering Mexican food. They are also following CDC guidelines, requiring face masks in their dining room, and upholding the strict cleaning standards with hospital-grade disinfectant that they have always followed. Visit them online at thepatronrestaurant.com.

Iron Horse Restaurant (100 S Railroad Avenue, Ashland) is taking reservations for patio and indoor dining. In addition to rigorous cleaning and sanitation protocols, Iron Horse is suggesting limited dining times and limiting maximum party sizes. They are still offering takeout orders and delivery through DoorDash of a limited menu, including their delicious farm-to-table hand-cut filet and hangar steaks. Their menu also includes their well-known Scottish salmon and house-made meatloaf. Visit them online at ironhorserestaurant.com.

Hanover Café (13185 Hanover Courthouse Road) is also open for indoor and outdoor seating, takeout, and curbside carryout – see their website for hours, as they may differ during this time. Staff is required to disinfect surface between visits and masks are required if you choose indoor dining. The café is best known for its great coffee and desserts, as well as comfort food like salt herring with fried apples, cornbread, and fried potatoes. Visit them online at hanover-cafe.edan.io.

Gus’ Italian Café and Sports Bar (7358 Bell Creek Road, Mechanicsville) is still open at half-capacity with tables spaced for proper social distancing. They are also offering curbside delivery, as well as service through DoorDash. Their diverse menu offers starters such as lightly blackened Ahi Tuna Bites and spicy Bang-Bang Shrimp, and their pizza features a freshly made dough and sauce recipe dating back to 1980. Marty’s Grill in Mechanicsville (9357 Atlee Road) is known for their Burger Tuesdays and their craft beer offerings. They currently offer takeout service, limited indoor seating, and have new heaters to warm up their patio seating. During this time, the menu items on their “Signatures” page are unavailable. Per the current mandate, they are requiring masks at all times, unless customers are seated and eating. Don’t forget to stop by during breakfast hours for their scrumptious, freshly-baked cinnamon rolls! Visit them online at martysgrill.com.
